PETER MACMANUS is the writer of the pilot Harlen River, which was sold to Peacock/MRC with Riley Stearns directing (The Art of Self-Defense, Dual) and Jonathan Majors initially starring. He began his career in New York working at Miramax Films and Focus Features before segueing into television production at AMC Networks, where he worked as an executive on such series as Breaking Bad, Rubicon, and The Prisoner

After moving to Los Angeles, he sold a number of dramas including period thriller Seward's Man with MRC, Fly By Night with USA, UCP and Dark Horse, a reboot of Miami Vice with NBC and Chris Morgan Productions, and his debut script Hurt People, which was originally developed at HBO/Cinemax with Graham King producing. 

In addition to his television development, Macmanus has staffed on multiple shows, including USA's romantic drama Satisfaction, SPIKE TV's The Mist, and SYFY'S Happy!.

In features, Peter has written for GK Films, Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Skybound, and Netflix. 

He is currently developing his WWII drama Reich with Jon Amiel directing and Anyway Content producing. His limited series A Conspiracy in 3 Parts, a genre bending thriller about bipolar disorder, is currently in development with Plan B. His latest feature Police Strike, a action thriller, was written for Dark Horse Entertainment. And his next pilot script Upper, a criminal romantic dramedy set in New York City’s Upper West Side, is completed and preparing to go out to buyers.

Macmanus splits his time between Long Island and New York City and he has four children.
